Meet Your Experts
Chris Curfman, with McKeon Meunier, Carlin & Curfman, LLC, has an extensive scientific background in chemistry and pharmaceuticals, as a researcher, scientific advisor, patent agent, and patent attorney. He counsels startups, large and small corporations, and universities on all aspects of patent prosecution in pharmaceutical, chemical, and biotechnology-related technologies. Chris was named a Georgia Super Lawyers “Rising Star” by Atlanta Magazine (2006). He received a JD from Georgia State University, PhD in Chemistry from Emory University, and a BS in Biology and MS in Chemistry from Virginia Tech.
Christine P. Bellon, Ph.D., J.D., is currently Vice President of Intellectual Property & Legal Affairs for Hydra Biosciences and is responsible for all legal matters for the company. Dr. Bellon was previously on patent portfolios as Assistant General Counsel, Intellectual Property, for Infinity Pharmaceuticals, as Patent Counsel at Wyeth, and as an attorney in the Boston office of Fish & Richardson P.C. Christine holds a J.D. degree from Columbia Law School, a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is a graduate from Yale University with honors, with a B.S. in Chemistry.
Rebecca Boudreaux Breitenkamp, Ph.D. is an entrepreneurial, technology executive with a unique blend of technical skills and business development expertise. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Onset Innovations, which focuses on accelerating early stage companies. With clients from the life sciences, materials, high tech, and non-profit sectors, Onset Innovations advises early stage companies and investors on commercialization potential, new markets, and strategic partnership opportunities. Dr. Breitenkamp has a broad range of academic and industrial experience, having performed research at MIT, Princeton University, University of Southern Mississippi, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and National Starch and Chemical. In 2004, Dr. Breitenkamp co-founded Intezyne Technologies and served as CFO for four years and as a member of the company’s Board of Directors. In her role as CFO, she oversaw daily corporate operations, risk management, and the financial and business development of the company. Dr. Breitenkamp earned a B.S. in Polymer Science (magna cum laude) from the University of Southern Mississippi and a M.S. and PhD in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts. She has co-authored six peer-reviewed publications and is a co-inventor on eight patent applications.
