Marc Morley is a partner with the law firm of Foley & Lardner LLP in San Diego and previously practiced with Knobbe Martens Olsen & Bear. He specializes in patents and intellectual property protection for a diverse array of technologies including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, clean technology, medical devices and plants. Morley was a summer law clerk for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, where he worked on legislative projects including the Omnibus Patent Reform Act of 1997, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and the Database Piracy Act.

 

Brittany Syz, VP of Business Development and General Counsel of Oberon Fuels. Prior to Oberon Fuels, Brittany practiced transactional law providing real estate and corporate legal services.  She worked on transactions, ranging from the permitting and leasing of wind farms to refinancings of major development projects.  During the dot.com boom, Brittany was an initial employee of two internet start-up companies.  Her role was to design and build-out the internet products/projects.

    Great job. I would take issue with a minor point. You referred to the term “provisional patents” a few times. Of course you know that there is no such thing as a provisional patent. The correct term would be “provisional application.”
