How do you write your resume to snag that interview? Join Dr. David Harwell, Director of ACS Careers, as he shares easy-to-follow tips that will make your resume stand out from the crowd. This event is co-produced with the ACS Younger Chemists Committee and Local Section Activities Committee, and will bring together young chemists from across the nation as they learn how to get ahead in the workforce while networking with other participants.  After the broadcast, there will be plenty of time for LIVE questions and answers from a distinguished panel of recruiters and employment specialists.

Meet the Experts

Dr. David Harwell is the Assistant Director for Career Management and Development at ACS. In his job, he works with chemical professionals throughout their careers. He is a chemist by training and a career counselor by profession. Before joining the staff of ACS Dave was a faculty member at the University of Hawaii focusing on silicon nanoparticles and supramolecular structures.

 

 

 

Chris Kim is an Account Manager at Aerotek, Inc.  Chris is responsible for developing new business and servicing his current clients in the Greater Philadelphia area. He started with Aerotek in 2008 as a Recruiter.  After successfully recruiting for 18 months, Chris was promoted into an Account Recruiting Management role, where he was tasked with managing and servicing three of the largest customers in the Philadelphia market.  In January 2013, he was promoted into a Business Development role.

 

 

Meredith Dow has over 16 years experience in the staffing industry with specific expertise in the areas of Scientific, Clinical Research and Engineering staffing and is currently the Founder of Driven Staffing Inc. Previously, she was responsible for opening and managing the Life Sciences practice for a start-up staffing firm and grew that into the company’s most profitable division in less than one year. She was their top performer for 4 out of the 5 years she was with them. Prior to that she founded and managed a Scientific branch for a $1 billion staffing firm, and developed that branch into the company’s most successful scientific branch for 9 of the 10 years that she was with the company. Her passion is helping to connect talented scientists with companies who need and can appreciate their expertise! Outside of Driven her passion is food/wine pairing and she is studying to be a Sommelier.
