Maryn McKenna is a journalist and author specializing in public health, global health and food policy. She blogs for Wired, is a columnist for Scientific American, and writes for Slate, the Guardian, Nature, SELF, More and other major publications. She is the author of SUPERBUG (2010) and BEATING BACK THE DEVIL (2004), both published by Free Press/Simon & Schuster. She is a Senior Fellow of the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism at Brandeis University.
Dr. David Harwell is the Assistant Director for Career Management and Development at ACS. In his job, he works with chemical professionals throughout their careers. He is a chemist by training and a career counselor by profession. Before joining the staff of ACS Dave was a faculty member at the University of Hawaii focusing on silicon nanoparticles and supramolecular structures.
